Homeschooling to Protect Your Child? Beware of the Danger at Home.

Parents have many great reasons for choosing to homeschool their children. One reason is to protect them from societal dangers and bad influences.

When they are primarily educated at home, the likelihood of damaging interactions with teachers and peers is significantly lower. Their exposure to discrimination, unbiblical worldviews, and predatory behaviors are minimized. The list is longer or shorter for different individuals.

A danger that many may overlook as they focus on dangers outside the home is the danger lurking within the home.

Enter the covert narcissistic parent.

The narcissistic parent is dangerous because their harmful behavior towards the mom, as well as towards the child runs counter to the very upstanding, empathetic, godly qualities you're trying to instill and lessons you're trying to teach

With God's help homeschooling has the power to cultivate a confident, well-rounded child who is empowered and equipped to pursue their unique God-given assignments.

If the child has all of these qualities but lives with a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde narcissistic parent, these qualities are hampered.

Children need the healthy interaction of their fathers to learn to navigate interactions with the outside world. This holds special significance for girls.

At home parents often consider that they have been called to be home with their children, as well as homeschool their children. Consider that this calling is an invitation to shepherd a child's heart and the grand purpose they are ordained to fulfill.

Providing for this child must be done with the awareness that their purpose and their ability to fulfill that purpose are targeted by the enemy. He seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. Be careful that he may be on the prowl in your own home, with the goal of mind, body, and spirit destruction through domestic violence.

Educate yourself about the various types of abuse, including covert abuse, so you are equipped to protect your children completely.

Lord, please give wisdom to all parents, and an extra measure of discernment to at home and homeschooling parents who are experiencing intimate partner terrorism. Cover and protect the special call on the lives of their children. Amen.
